First Update!

We were so excited to receive our first update this morning! I was pleasantly surprised to see it sitting in my email inbox. We received pictures and her height and weight. Claire is now 27 inches long and 15.4 pounds. She is stretching out and has grown a inch and a half since her referral paper work. Claire received her first care package at her 8 month well baby check and they snapped some pictures of her with some of the items. We sent the little bow in her hair and the bib that she is wearing. It is so exciting to see things that we sent with our sweet little girl. It makes it all feel a bit more real.

Super Fancy Eggs

We had a two day egg decorating extravaganza. We came up with some super fancy eggs. I do not think that they will walk away with any prizes but we did have a great time doing it.

Here are a few lessons that we learned about egg decorating in general and egg decorating with a two year old.

-Use coffee mugs or similar sized containers so you do not have to keep rotating the eggs.

-Having a two year old help with the actual coloring is not as helpful as you might think (or it is exactly what you might think)

-The two year old is going to REALLY want to crack them just like on Saturdays when he helps make french toast

-The super fancy box should be taped up so that the open end does not collapse down and the eggs sit in the pooling color.

-The two year old just really wants to crack one.

-When given sheets of stickers to decorate the eggs don't plan on any making it on the eggs.

-The two year old cracks the egg.

-You may end up with a two year old looking like a super fancy Easter Egg!

One Man Show

Henry has been a riot lately to hangout with. We went out to lunch today and Henry was pretty much hysterical putting on a show with all of his tricks. We ended up having a hour long lunch because he was so busy have a good time that it was hard to remember to eat.

New Stroller!

Jason and I had been talking about buying a jogging stroller for this summer for a while. With Claire's referral we decided that if we are investing in a new stroller we should look into getting one that we can use in the long term. We took the big step and officially bought something that says 'yes, we have two kids.' It is a little crazy to see two little seats in that stroller and to know that soon (kind of) they both will be full. Henry and I were pretty excited when the fedex guy came to our house! My little helper and I put the surprisingly easy stroller together and then test drove it in the living room. Henry just kept saying "Tank you, tank you" so I think he likes it too! We are hoping to get it out on the open road (sidewalk) today. We will see if the snow/rain lets us. One thing that we are really excited about is that it has adjustable handles so it is tall enough for Jason to push comfortably as well. Our other stroller which we still love will now be a trunk stroller. Yay!!! It means no more forgetting to bring the stroller!

Molars... Good Times

Sorry for the blurry pictures but I had to zoom in on them to give you a little taste of what has been going on at our house. Those pesky molars are still working their way down and Henry literally has his hand in his mouth half the day. With a hand in the mouth there also comes the lovely drool that runs down the previously mentioned hand.

Blowing Bubbles

Just a couple of guys grilling and blowing bubbles on a Friday night.

Spring Break!

A bunch of Henry's friend had spring break this week so we kind of had a spring break too! Henry is lucky that he has so many friends who have teachers for mommy's. It means school holidays and summers are free for playdates! We had a fun week of playdates and outings. A quick hug in line make the time pass. Getting ready for the balloon ride. Driving a big rig. Three little beach combers. (I realize my son is in a sweater but lets pretend we really did go to the beach!) The hand holding melts my heart.

We had gone to this inflatable jumping place once before at Christmas time and Henry was not really that into it. Well lets just say that things have changed. This guy was unstoppable. He was going about a mile a minute and tried every bouncer and slide. The big one is BIG and he gave his mama a small heart attack every time he climbed that big wall and slid down. There were some bigger kids at this one and I was worried that he would get run over/knocked off. I was so impress with these big kids. They would take turns climbing up behind him and then help him at the top. (not that he really need it) So job well done to some parents out there who raised some helpful and respectful kids Can you see why I was having a heart attack?!?!? Notice the picture is off kilter and out of focus.
