Waterslide!

Henry is a fish.
No really, the kid love love loves the water.

Getting Henry to Smile

Looking at our Christmas pictures I noticed that in every picture of Henry actually smiling he is also looking off to the side.  There is that strange phenomenon that as soon as the camera comes out it is impossible to get a smile.  I am always one second too early or late.  Jason started a game of tickling Henry and then running away.  So Henry is smiling but also still watching Jason hence the look to the side.  I will take what I can get.  (Maybe Jason should have tickled Grandpa Neal too.)

Christmas

We had a fabulous Christmas this year.  Henry LOVED all things Christmas and really got into it this year. It is so fun to see things through their eyes.  We spent Christmas Eve with my family and on Christmas Day we met Jason's family at a resort to spend a couple of days relaxing with them.  Henry was a very lucky boy and got some super cool gifts.  He has been in heaven this week trying out all his new toys!

Family Day

Two Years
Two years of family.
Two years of love.
Two years of unimaginable happiness.
Two years of being a family through the good times and the not so good.
I have to admit that it is still unreal that it has been two years.
We are a family today, tomorrow and forever.

Miss Claire!

We received an early Christmas present today! New pictures of Claire!!! I was really hoping we would get some for Christmas and my wish came true! I am pretty sure Henry wished for some new pictures when he blew out his candles this morning.  We also received some updated measurements.  Claire is now 20.5 pounds, exactly 10 pounds less then Henry!  She also has 4 teeth on the top and 3 on the bottom.  I seriously just want to reach in the picture and squeeze her!! Happy happy day!
Love the little pig tails!

She likes the cup we sent!

Happy Birthday Henry Seong

We love you more than words can say!
Happy happy birthday to an amazing little boy!

Henry at Three

We started a new tradition this year of interviewing Henry.  The answers were entertaining!  We plan on doing this every year and it will be so fun to see how he changes and grows!
Henry's List of Favorites
  • Color- Blue
  • Toy- Train Table
  • Book- One Duck Stuck by Phyllis Root
  • Show- Chuggington
  • Song- Neighbors by The Okee Dokee Brothers
  • Animal- Giraffe
  • Food- Mac and Cheese
  • Drink- Juice
  • Fruit- Fruit Snacks (when pressed for an actual fruit the answer was Watermelon)
  • Snack- Goldfish
  • Place to Play- Blue park
  • Things to Sleep with- Blue Kiki (blankie), pillow and puppy
  • What do you want to be when you grow up? Mater (So I am guessing he wants to be a tow truck??)
  • What does Mommy do? Groceries
  • What does Daddy do? Help build tunnels
  • How old are you? Thwee
  • How old is Mommy? 38 (Thanks) or sometimes 13
  • How old is Dad? Twooo
Henry Being Henry
  • Too Spicy- this could mean any number of things but is most likely not related to the actual spice level. (the guy loves spicy food with tons of flavor) Common things deemed too spicy- putting shoes on, saying hi to grandma on the phone, not wanting to eat dinner, his carseat.  Really just about anything could possibly be too spicy.
  • Hold on tight Diesel Ten
  • Night night sleep tight.... Love you- Every night and nap I say and hear this and it melts my heart every time listening to his little voice say it.
  • Little Monkey- He lovingly refers to himself as little monkey.
  • Monkey Boy- This usually involves Henry engaging in something that may be a little dangerous and he knows it.  Hanging with his arms and legs on the railing coming down the steps is an example.
  • Naked Boy- Every night before bath he streaks down the hall yelling this
  • giggle giggle cheese- He can say macaroni and cheese but we still love the giggle giggle cheese
  • Cuddles Mama, Cuddles Dada
  • Oh no... don't pinch finger- I am not sure what happened but clearly the lesson was learned.  He is now on the look out for possible finger pinching situations at all times
  • This one was just this morning cuddling in bed- "Mom's birthday's all done.  Its Henry's turn now."
Happy 3rd Birthday Henry Seong!

Yummy!!!

We had plans last night to go out for my birthday but Henry had other plans.  We had a to make a unplanned trip to Urgent Care.  Poor guy had an ear infection in his right ear.  We caught it early and after being on meds for 24 hours he was feeling much better tonight.  We ventured out for a belated birthday dinner and it was DELICIOUS!! It had been forever since we had Ethiopian food and it was so so good.  Henry was much to busy dipping away to look at the camera!

My Birthday Gift

Two years ago today I turned 28.  (Yes, if you just did the math that means I am 30 today.) I turned 28 in the beautiful country of South Korea.  On my 28th birthday I was given the most amazing gift.  I held my son for the very first time.  No words can describe the feeling of holding your child that you have waited so long to meet.   It is so hard to believe that it has already been two years.  In a way if feels like yesterday but also it seems as though it has been a lifetime.  I can not remember life with out our little monkey and the last two years have been amazing.  It is crazy to look back and see how tiny Henry was!
I am looking forward to the day that we can bring Henry back through these doors and meet our sweet little Claire.  My birthday wish is for Claire to continue to be happy and healthy until her 30 year old mama can hold her in her arms. It is funny, through out this entire wait I have been ok. Even on Claire's first birthday I was ok. Today my arms ache for my sweet girl.

Visiting Santa

This was our terrified picture with Santa last year. Henry had a death grip on me and was not getting any closer.  I honestly thought that this year we would have a similar picture but Henry surprised me!
What is the first thing you would think of bringing with to a visit with Santa? For Henry it was a basketball Easter egg that he found in his toy bin that morning.  We filled it with teddy grahms and he was a happy guy.  For some strange reason I think hanging on to the egg gave Henry the courage to sit on Santa's lap!
We spent quite a bit of time just watching Santa talk to other kids.  It was very serious business.
Henry would wave to Santa and would Santa wave back!!!
Henry was really nervous but he made it onto Santa's lap! (with out his Easter egg)  He was even brave enough to whisper to Santa that he wanted a orange, monster truck (he meant semi truck), and trains from Chuggington (Wilson, Koko and Brewster)
Good Job big boy!
I am looking forward to getting the professional picture in the mail!

Graduation Day

Today was a very exciting day in our house, Henry has officially graduated from speech!  Henry qualified for speech last February under articulation.  Henry did a lot of hard work and is now right smack dab in the middle of normal for his age!
We spent our last day of speech with Jenny blowing bubbles. A great way to end it!

Claire's Ornament

While we where in Korea to bring Henry home we picked up quite a few little cell phone charms for people to use as Christmas ornaments.  I kept one that looked like Henry's hanbok and then I kept this other little girl hanbok.  When I got out our ornaments and hung it on the tree I was blown away at how similar it is to Claire's hanbok!

The Tree!

The sweet smell of Christmas is filling our house.  I love they way a Christmas tree smells as you walk down the stairs.  We have also been reading the Sweet Smell of Christmas quite a bit this week.  I love that book!
Henry tells us about 20x a day that "there's no bee's in there."  We are not quite sure where he came up with this but we are relieved to know that we do not have bee's in our tree.
Hanging the star!
I had a wonderful little helper this year to hang the ornaments on the lower part of the tree.
