Chatter Box

 You know that kid?? The one that NEVER stops talking??? If you didn't it is that guy right over there.  He chatters all day long.  Sometimes even at night.  We did speech for a year and worked REALLY hard to get him to talk.  I think he must be making up for lost time now.  Up until now he was just a chatter box for Jason and I.  Maybe for the grandparents but getting him to talk at ECFE last year was like pulling teeth.  This year is another story.  When I picked Henry up one day this week his teacher goes to me "I hear you do not drink coffee." No I do not! His teacher told Jason that Henry is so hilarious that they need to start a Henry's quote sheet. I am guessing that nothing is private in our house any more and Henry will do his best keep everyone informed on all of our coming and goings.  He also proudly tells his teachers that he bought his backpack at cos.tco every single time...every single time.  We received the sweetest email from his teacher this week that literally brought tears to my eyes.   Here is part of it: "Just wanted to send you both a quick note to let you know how great Henry is doing in preschool! He is a very kind, smart and outgoing little boy and we are so happy to have him in class! I adore his love for life and his backpack from Costco=)" That made my heart happy and I am so proud of my big boy!

Well today blogger is letting me do pictures and text! Big day!!! We took Claire to her first visit to Lola's and it was a hit.  Claire loves to eat and enjoyed every bite!

The Joys of Blogger

Sorry for being a bit absent from blogging.  Blogger has not been making it easy to blog, not a shocker I know.   The good news is there has been not much to blog.  We are just settling into our fall routine and living life as a family of four.  Henry is LOVING preschool!!! He is rocking preschool and is so excited to go.  He literally has his shoes and backpack on 20 minutes early every time.  I am so happy that he is thriving and enjoying it so much.  Claire is doing awesome in her transition.  She continues to be a little social butterfly but she definitely knows who mom and dad are and has made huge progress with being overly outgoing.  We are pretty happy with where we are attachment wise.  The whole brother/sister thing has made great progress!

Life is definitely busier with two.  Keeping up with laundry seems to be near impossible.  It's only one more tiny little person but it feels like about 10! Henry's life is now complete because we get to use the double carts at Target. He waited 16 months to get to use them and he relishes every second.  Claire continues to be one sassy little lady.  She continues to point our our weak spots in child proofing.  After Henry we thought we had all our i's dotted and t's crossed, how could a child be busier or more adventurous than Henry???? And then we met our little Claire, the only difference is that she is quiet about it.  We love our busy little bees!!!

First Day of Preschool

The first day of preschool is complete and it was a smashing success! Henry has been so excited about starting preschool and has been telling everyone he meets all about it.  The guy was just ready for school and he loved it! I am so excited about the coming year for him! His preschool class has only 12 kids in it despite the fact that they have 8 on a wait list.  The teacher feels like that is the best number for their classroom and she is keeping it at 12.  We also LOVE his teacher! From the moment we met her we knew it would be the perfect fit for Henry and his personality.  On the way there Henry told us that he was jazzed for preschool... hee hee hee.  I was a little worried about the drop off because last year with ECFE we had tears every time for about a month.  I had Jason bring him in and he started playing immediately and said goodbye like it was no big deal.  Henry was in charge of the snack for the first day and was very proud to bring in the snack sack.  When we picked him up he was still a happy camper and gave us tidbits of information on what they did.  It was quite entertaining to listen to!We asked him what he would like for lunch and he responded mandoo so off to the Korean restaurant for lunch. It was the perfect way to celebrate our big preschooler! Our children also ate their weight in Korean food!

The Beach

This summer was such a blur of anxious waiting, anxious packing and more waiting, traveling and then a jet lagged figuring out how to be a family of 4 haze.  Now that we are ready for summer and all that summer has to offer and it is almost over.  We will just have to enjoy every second of these beautiful September days.  We went to the beach for a couple hours last night after nap time and it was awesome.  It was almost empty, the water was warm and we enjoyed playing in the sand and sun!

A Good Week!!

This week was a good week! A really really good week!!! I feel as if a fog has been lifted and we are starting to come into our own.  I am not going to lie and say it was perfect but it was a HUGE step in the right direction.  Here are a few iphone pictures from our week.
